Doha, May 15 (QNA) - HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani met today at Al Wajba Palace Thailand's Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and her accompanying delegation. During the meeting existing ties of cooperation and means to enhance them were discussed. (QNA) (link here)
Qatar and Thailand sign three agreements
Qatar and Thailand yesterday held a session of official talks chaired by HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani and visiting Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.
They reviewed co-operation between the two countries and discussed regional and international issues of common concern.
After the meeting, the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding for co-operation in the health sector and agreements on recruitment of Thai workforce in Qatar, on cultural links and on trade and investment in agricultural products and commodities, especially halal food.
Later, HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim hosted a dinner banquet in honour of the Thai premier and her accompanying delegation.
Earlier, HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani met with Prime Minister Shinawatra and her accompanying delegation at Al Wajbah Palace. During the meeting, co-operation and ways to enhance it were discussed.
Prime Minister Shinawatra is on a two-day official visit to Qatar.
She was welcomed upon arrival at Doha International Airport by HE the Minister of Social Affairs Nasser bin Abdullah al-Hamidi, who is also the acting labour minister, Head of Protocols for the Prime Minister, HE Ahmed Jassem al-Mulla, Qatari ambassador to Thailand Jabor Ali Hussain al-Dosseri and Thai ambassador to Qatar Panyarak Poolthup.
Prime Minister Shinawatra had earlier visited Bahrain leading a Thai business team.
Bahrain and Thailand signed three memorandums of understanding in the fields of culture, tourism, food security as well as trade and investment in agricultural products.
