HE Minister of Awqaf (Endowments) and Islamic Affairs Dr. Ghaith bin Mubarak Al Kuwari has participated in the ceremony of laying the foundation stone for the Sheikh Jassim bin Mohamed bin Thani Teaching Hospital at Yala Islamic University, South of Thailand , which established by an Emiri gesture of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
In his speech during the ceremony, HE the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs stressed that HH the Emir of Qatar gives special attention to charity works in order to strengthen humanitarian cooperation to safeguard human dignity and the fight against poverty, ignorance and hunger
He pointed out that the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has carried out many development projects in Europe, Africa and Asia in education and health fields as key areas for achieving sustainable development in service of humanity and consolidation of world peace.
HE the Minister thanked the Government of Thailand for the cooperation with elite intellectuals of the Yala Islamic University under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education in the Kingdom of Thailand.
HE the Minister said: "The Ministry of Awqaf is honored today to sign a contract to implement the Yala University Teaching Hospital project named after the founder of the State of Qatar, the late Sheikh Jassim bin Mohamed bin Thani
He stressed that the project comes as part of a number of facilities including the academic building of the Islamic College and the Sheikh Jassem bin Mohamed bin Thani College for Science, technology and other facilities which have been established at the expenses of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
At the end of the ceremony, HE Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr. Ghaith bin Mubarak Al Kuwari and President of Yala Islamic University Dr. Ismail Lutfi signed the contract for establishing the Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammad Al Thani Teaching Hospital, and exchanged of commemorative shields.
